Did you know? There are two paths to taking your medicare. They are very different:


PATH #1 - HIGHER COVERAGE - Original Medicare, Parts A & B, with a Medicare Supplement (aka Medigap) and a Part D Prescription Drug Plan. You will have Nationwide access to ANY Doctor and ANY Hospital who accepts Medicare (which is 98%). You will pay separately for Dental and Vision Care. You will have the highest level of coverage possible, but you will pay a higher premium every month.


PATH #2 - LOWER COST - Medicare Advantage (Part C), You still have to maintain Medicare Parts A & B, but your coverage will come through the Insurance Carier (such as Humana or United Health or other) sponsoring the Medicare Advantage Plan, Typically, it will include your Part D Prescription Plan and typically some Dental and Vision coverage. In most cases, you will pay $0 Monthly premium to the Medicare Advantage Plan (you have to continue Medicare Part B, which is $185 per month in 2025). You will have a lower cost per month but subject to higher Cost-sharing and an Max Out-of-pocket of $8,000 to $9,000 per month if you get sick or have a serious accident.
